A useful pilot would bring two representative applications onto a common operating model. One could be a stateless web service; the other could depend on persistent data. Design the operating model first

GitOps can help make intended configuration reviewable, but it does not replace the need for sound change management. Define an emergency-change process and ensure changes made during incidents are reconciled with the approved configuration.

Choose success criteria before installation. Track the time required to onboard an application, complete a planned upgrade, investigate a failure, and recover a service. Include a restore exercise, not only a successful deployment demonstration.
Ask the implementation team to validate the supported infrastructure, integrations, edition entitlements, and upgrade paths for the proposed design. Treat security, observability, and backup as explicit requirements rather than assumptions attached to the word “platform.”
